dc.descriptionThe present project was based on the proposal to strengthen the columns and structural beams of the Stella Maris Church located in an area of Guasmo considered highly vulnerable to earthquakes, modeling in the Etabs software allowed to evaluate the dynamic response of the structure to seismic events, which is essential to understand their behavior and propose appropriate resistant seismic strategies based on current regulations NEC(ECUADORIAN STANDARDS OF CONSTRUCTION), ACI 318-14 and ASE 7-16. The present investigation demonstrates through the software Etabs was compared between two techniques for reinforcement; conventional steel jacketing and the use of carbon fiber fabric sheet with the help of sikacarbodur indicator. This comparison gave that the most optimal technique is the application of carbon fiber fabric as it is a composite material that has proven effective for reinforcing structures due to its high tensile strength significantly higher than steel and capacity which will reduce the effect to damage from a seismic event.............es_ES
